Faction Description: The Society of Street Sweepers is the official body responsible for keeping the streets of the City clean, along with other projects of public maintenance, such as gardening what public parks there are and keeping street lanterns lit. They wear plain brown uniforms and can often be seen about the City. The Six are said to take a dim view of any who mistreat a member of the Society.

The city’s waste is taken with great care to the Society’s headquarters, where it is loaded into carts and sent inside, where it is incinerated.

The Society avoids certain areas of the city for reasons that nobody can explain. Some of them seem obvious - parts of the city that are too dangerous to go or that do not need their services. Yet some places that they avoid are places that one would expect to find them most active.

Members of the Society eschew all clothing other their humble uniforms and all of them find themselves with a greatly increased appetite for food. Yet however much they eat, they still grow pale and gaunt, as though slowly starving. There seem to be no ill-effects on their actual health, but many find it disquieting nonetheless.

Faction Members: People join the Society for all kinds of reasons, but typically because it is a safe job with a steady paycheck. Members of the Society are treated with more respect than many and even many of the city's more unusual dangers tend to leave them alone. A good PC might be the leader of a group of Society members, with responsibility for ensuring the cleanliness of a particular district.

Relationship to the Six: On this matter, the Six appear to be unanimous. The Society is firmly under their protection, and the white clad Soldiers of the Fifth and the red uniformed Police of the Sixth are often seen keeping an eye on them in the more dangerous areas. Killing a Sweeper is a great way to find oneself under the judgement of the Sixth in the Highest Court.
